Empowering communities through shared cultural heritage.
LX Heritage is a public-facing archaeological nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving and celebrating cultural heritage. Established by two passionate archaeological Ph.D. students in Brazos County, Texas, LX Heritage emerged from a shared vision to bridge the gap between academic research and community engagement.
Community first.
Our work begins with the community. We collaborate closely with local museums, educational groups, and governmental organizations to ensure that our research aligns with the needs and aspirations of the communities we serve. LX Heritage is committed to democratizing access to archaeological research, allowing communities that wouldn’t traditionally have access to such resources to document, protect, and leverage their community heritage.
Our core values are rooted in community and stakeholder agency, transparency, and open access to research. At LX Heritage, we believe that by preserving and sharing our cultural heritage, we can empower communities and together create a brighter, more enriching future.

How we work.
Unlike many other archaeological organizations primarily focused on cultural resource management, LX Heritage goes a step further. We transform our research into usable outreach material, including museum exhibits, education resources, and open-access databases for other researchers.
This not only enriches local communities but also has the potential to increase financial revenue and tourism for local organizations.
